Tim works as a part-time music industry attorney originally from Louisiana and lives part-time in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. At present he works mostly doing music and technology transcriptional work for U.S. clients.
Tim has nearly 25 years of experience working as a music law attorney in the music industry. In private practice he has represented artists, producers, record labels and publishers and other related industry clients. He worked for nearly 7 years he worked for UMG and their record label Interscope Geffen A&M Records in both their Copyright Department and Business and Legal Affairs in Santa Monica, California. Following his time California, Tim moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he was also admitted to the state’s bar.
After a brief stint at Country Music Television he began his own small legal practice that includes doing contract “back office” business and legal affairs work for small record labels and publishers. He received is B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1990. While at Louisiana State University, Tim served as the student government president. He received his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans in 1994. Tim was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1994 and the Tennessee Bar in 2007. Before beginning his legal career he worked as an aide to U.S. Senator John Breaux and two others.
Tim has lectured at Loyola University’s Music School and has been an adjunct professor at at Middle Tennessee State University‘s Recording Industry Department.
